Torch 9800: Vivid (hidden today)

Vivid (hidden today) is based on my original Vivid theme.  The only difference is that instead of the fixed today area on the home screen it has a hidden today area.

This is a Full theme.  Absolutely everything that is possible to be themed has been themed.  All icons, All images, Call screen, Text messaging chat screens, etc.

I wanted to get away from the basic mostly black and white look and feel of Blackberry OS6 and give something bright, bold and vibrant.  I hope you like it is much as I do.

Here's a quick walkthrough of some of the features starting with the Homescreen:
  • 4 custom icons across the bottom
  • A Hidden Today that will show up to 10 Calendar appointment and new Messages
  • When you scroll over the Hidden Today area you get a large shaded underlay under your whole Today area so no matter what wallpaper you are using you will never have any difficulty reading your appointments or new messages

At first glance the banner area is very minimalist, just the battery and signal meters and the time, but there is much more there than is first visible:
  • There are 2 hidden icons that instantly appear when you scroll up to your banner area
  • Hidden icons are:  Profiles and Weather
  • Select your battery meter to open Options
  • Select the time to open Clock/Alarm
  • Select your signal meter to open Manage Connections

In addition to the 9 homescreen applications already mentioned there is also 3 hotkeys:
  • Hit spacebar to open Messages
  • Hit $ to open Text Messages
  • Hit 0 (zero) to open Calculator
As you have already seen above Vivid uses my own custom designed icon set.  Here are some screen shots of the main All Applications screen and inside some of the folders so you can see the icons:

Next here is a few images of the call log and call screens (areas that most themes don't cover at all):

Next here is some images of the messaging list and a Text Messaging chat:

And now since I don't think I have posted quite enough screenshots yet  ;)  here is a couple more:

And finally here is the Download link:  Vivid (hidden today)

Note: because Theme Builder 6 does not currently properly support landscape mode (or the ability to disable it) it is highly recommended that you use an application to disable landscape mode.  The app that The Theme Zone recommends is Six Tools.  Click Here for a direct OTA link.

OS6 - Perfected (Torch & Storm)

OS6 - Perfected is what I feel the default Torch OS6 theme should have been.

Overview:
I started with the oversized banner. First I thinned it down to a more reasonable size, next I rearranged the items and added a percentage meter to the battery. Next I added 3 separate links for Options, Clock and Connnections instead of having them lumped all together like it was. I kept profiles the same, but made hitting the notification area go straight to messages rather than opening a dropdown that you need to click a second time to open your messages. I kept the usefull Universal Search icon. Note: This a true OS6 Universal Search icon, not the old legacy search icon that all other themes are using (Torch only, Storm has a user selectable icon instead).

Next I did away with the annoying tabs and replaced them with one dock showing your top 5 applications. I then added the ability to easily hide and unhide that dock to keep your homescreen uncluttered and your wallpaper visible (Simply click or touch the down arrow above the icons to hide the dock, and click or touch the up arrow at the bottom of the screen to unhide it).

Features:
  • Click on the battery meter to open Options
  • Click on the signal meter to open Manage Connections
  • Click on the time to open Clock/Alarm
  • Dedicated Profiles icon
  • Universal Search icon (Torch only - Storm has a user selectable icon instead)
  • Click on the notification area to open Messages
  • 5 user selectable icons at the bottom
  • Click the area right above the bottom icons to hide them
  • Click the bottom area of the screen to reshow the icons
  • All icons and theme elements are in custom created official OS6 style
  • Press Spacebar to open Messages (Torch only)
  • Press 0 to open Calculator (Torch only)
  • Press $ to open Text Messages (Torch only)

Download Link: OS6 - Perfected
Note for Torch users: Because landscape mode is not currently supported by RIM in the Beta theme builder it is recommended that you use an app to disable landscape mode.  Some apps that do this are: QuickLaunch, TiltLock, and my favourite and the one I recommend Six Tools

Torch 9800: Vivid

Theme Name:  Vivid

Supported Device:  Torch 9800

Theme Description:  This is not just another homescreen replacement like almost all themes out there, nor is it just a homescreen with a few extra added elements.

  • A 7 line Calendar area showing your upcoming appointments
  • A 2 line Messages area showing your new messages
  • When you scroll over Calendar or Messages you get a large shaded underlay under your whole Today area so no matter what wallpaper you are using you will never have any difficulty reading your appointments or new messages

Torch 9800: Wallpaper Popup

Supported Device(s):  Torch 9800

Overview:  Do you like viewing and showing off your wallpapers?  Perhaps featuring pictures taken yourself using the Torch's camera?  But want to do that while still having everything available right at your fingertips? If yes then this is the theme for you.

All that you initially see on your homescreen is a tiny banner and nothing else, nothing to get in the way of your wallpapers.

But if you touch anywhere on the top quarter of the screen a box instantly pops up showing:
  • Profiles (note: Profiles must be set to be the first icon in the 3rd row of your main All Applications list)
  • Clock
  • Options
  • Manage connections

Also if you touch anywhere in the middle half of your screen you get:
  • A 2 row popup featuring your 8 favourite icons

Thats not all, when you click anywhere in the bottom quarter of the screen you get a pop up featuring:
  • Messages
  • Text Messages (SMS/MMS)
  • BBM
  • Browser

You can leave any 1, 2, or 3 of those popups on your screen for as long as you want, but as soon as you are done with them simply hit Escape and they dissappear again leaving your homescreen clear and uncluttered.

And there is still more.  You'd rather use your keyboard than touch your screen?  No problem:
  • Hit the spacebar and Messages opens up
  • Hit 0 (Zero) and the Calculator opens
  • Hit $ (the key with the Speaker icon in it) and Profiles opens up
You are probably thinking but what about viewing my upcoming appointments right from my homescreen?  No problem that is taken care of as well.  Simply rotate your phone left or right and you will be shown your next 9 upcoming appointments

So all together that is 20 applications and 9 appointments that can be viewed and selected right from your completely clear and uncluttered homescreen  :)
